Annotation

The annotation studio labels images for training machine-learning models. Draw boxes, rotated boxes, polygons, lines, points, keypoint skeletons and painted masks, each in a class with its colour, the shapes it allows and its attributes — with the mouse, a pen, touch, or entirely from the keyboard.

Images wait in a queue with a status each, from to do to approved; a review mode approves or rejects them with a note. A model's guesses show dashed with their score, to be accepted in one click. Projects go in and out as COCO, YOLO and Pascal VOC. Images are shown from the addresses you give and nothing is uploaded: the project is plain JSON your page keeps.

Street scenes

Twenty-four frames from a road: the first ten labelled, three part done, five with a model's guesses to check and the rest still to do. Press B for a box, P for a polygon, K for a skeleton or M to paint a mask, and 1 to 6 for the class. With the image focused, the arrow keys move a cross and Space places it. Control and Enter marks a frame labelled and moves on.

Reviewing

The same frames in review mode: shapes can be looked at and stepped through but not changed. Approve a frame, or reject it with a note saying what to fix; the note is shown with the frame when it is opened for labelling again.

Datasets out

The street scenes above, as the files a training run reads: the approved and labelled frames, model guesses left out. Shapes a format cannot hold are left out and listed, never lost without a word. Each format downloads as one ZIP from the studio's Export menu; the same conversions run on a server.
